Steve Roden, born in 1964 in Los Angeles, visual artist and sound artist, lives in Pasadena, California. Design studies at the Ecole Parsons in Paris, at Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles and at the Art Center College for Design in Pasadena. Steve Rodens’ work encompasses painting, drawing, sculpture, film and sound installation. His works are a combination of conceptual strategies and intuition. Since the 1980s, numerous solo and group exhibitions in international museums, galleries and art spaces, e.g. Hammer Museum (Los Angeles) The Drawing Center (New York), MAK Center for Art and Architecture (Los Angeles), Miami Museum of Contemporary Art (Miami), Studio five Beekman (New York) Betty Rymer Gallery (Chicago), Centro de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, Galleria e/static (Turin), Stadtgalerie Saarbrücken, Susanne Vielmetter (Los Angeles and Berlin Projects). Has performed improvised soundscapes in diverse art spaces and at many festivals.
