Edwin van der Heide studied sonology at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where he graduated in 1992. He works as an artist in the areas of sound, space and interactivity. His work concentrates on sound installations, interactive installations and environments. Since 1995, professor at the Royal Conservatory and the Art Academy in The Hague. In  2009, Varèse guest professorship at the TU Berlin.
