In the Small Water Reservoir students of the HBK Saar (under Christina Kubisch’s leadership) are showing the  “Archipel” installation. An archipel(ago) refers to a collection of islands that are grouped together. Analogous to this concept, sound islands are created from loudspeakers whose structures are sometimes open and sometimes interwoven. The different positions of the artists in the room are the starting point for the compositional arrangement. The individual sounds intermix into ever new combinations and create, in their totality, a multi-faceted sound space.
