For more than a decade Qin Yufen is among the well known artists in Germany working with the media space installation.

For her newest work "China-Fieber" this year«s spring she travelled to Beijing. With digital technology she recorded images and sounds of crowds in the center, housing blocks and streets. These materials she made into the two piece environment "China-Fieber". Like in a collage a world between worlds is explored with fotos and sounds, bamboo poles and rice paper. Qin Yufen does a subjectively tinted investigation of a country which is in an economy boom "fever" and which looks for it«s own identity between the greed of capitalist global processes and it«s own history. More by chance the title also refers to the present spreading SARS-epidemic disease.
