Californian artist Steve Roden has named his sound installations in the belfry of Parochialkirche "light forms". Sounds from light sources which beam at one another create the foundation for a multichannelled composition. These acoustic (light) forms are juxtaposed by sequences from a video film which are inspired by a musical source - musical directions for bell ringers from the 19th Century. For Roden it´s not about light and sound being next to or against one another, but about sound/visual abstractions: the idea of a "visual music".
