Neophonia

"Neophonia" in the bell tower is inspired by the ignition sounds of neon lamps. Küntzel stages a composition of light and sound, where optical effect and acoustic impulse are causally connected.

Lüster

While the rhythms of "Neophonie" transform the room into a pulsing environment of sounds and neon lamp flickering, "Lüster" presents a prepared candelabrum in a shaded room up in the steeple hall, where the switching operations of 20 pairs of bulbs are acoustically doubled. There "Lüster" plays a fascinating game of light and shadow, filling the space with sound and silence.
