»entre límites / zwischen grenzen« presents eleven new sound installations by german and mexican artists in Ex Teresa Arte Actual and in Laboratorio Arte Alameda in Mexico City. Sound art as a genre has developed tremendously in both countries over the past years. The works shown here are the result of a three-year residency and exchange project organized by the Goethe-Institut Mexico and singuhr—projekte Berlin involving german and mexican sound artists. It was launched in 2015 and is scheduled to run for three years. The participating artists represent multiple generations with sometimes very different modes of accessing sound art. Over half of the sound installations were developed specifically for the exhibition spaces during local project residencies. The exhibition will be shown here and, following that, in Berlin at the end of november 2016 under the aegis of the Dual Year 2016/2017 in Mexico and Germany as well as the city partnership between Berlin and Mexico City.
La exposición colectiva »entre límites / zwischen grenzen« presenta once instalaciones sonoras inéditas de artistas alemanes y mexicanos en Ex Teresa Arte Actual y Laboratorio Arte Alameda. El género del arte sonoro ha experimentado un enorme desarrollo durante los últimos años en ambos países. Las obras aquí presentadas son el resultado de un proyecto de residencias e intercambio de tres años de duración iniciado por el Goethe-Institut Mexiko y singuhr—projekte berlin en el año 2015 con artistas sonoros de Alemania y México. Los artistas participantes son representantes de varias generaciones con enfoques muy diversos hacia este género artístico. La mayoría de las instalaciones sonoras fueron concebidas durante los periodos de residencia y específicamente para los espacios expositivos. Con motivo del año de Alemania en México y de México en Alemania 2016/2017 y de la hermandad entre Berlín y la Ciudad de México, esta exposición será mostrada primero aquí y a finales de noviembre en Berlín.
